Now that O3′s new location on Sweeten Creek road is up and running smoothly, it’s time for us trainers to develop programs for people that are suited to the awesome new space. We chose the location and the equipment in it based on an upcoming trend in the industry: small group training. My group classes are entering their second month and focus on women who are interested in physique competition, or at least attaining the type of physique that would look right at home on stage in a figure or bikini division, whether you intend to compete or not.
This requires a few things I can’t provide for you – hard work and consistency being chief among them. If you feel you have a healthy supply of those, I will supply the workouts, nutritional guidance, supplement recommendations, posing practice, and everything else it takes to be successful in this venture.
How you go about creating a ‘competitive’ physique is a debate many people have opinions on, but there is one constant ingredient – heavy weight training. That’s what we do in the Figure Bootcamp. As participants enter their pre-contest phase, I spend more time with them on their specific nutrition plan to bust through plateaus, and we’ll incorporate specific exercises new routines to address problem areas (which even the most gifted of us have).
